The invitation for a New year's Day walk along the Kakanui beach was too hard to resist. This is about a 15 minute drive from my home.
Towards the left you may just be able to see how close the road is to the shoreline. Just a short distance in this direction the cruel sea decided to claim a bit more land and two years ago part of the road slipped into the sea.
