Islands off the coast of Oahu, Hawaii.
Manana is the larger one and it means buoyant in Hawaiian. It is more commonly known as Rabbit Island because in the 1880's a member of Hawaiian royalty, John Adams Kuakini Cummins, raised rabbits there. They multiplied at such a rate that the ecology of the island was threatened and in 1994 the rabbits were completely eradicated and it is now a seabird wildlife sanctuary.
Kaohikaipu is the other smaller Island, known as Black Rock (for obvious reasons).
