The beautiful Lake Pukaki in the MacKenzie Country, South Island, New Zealand.Originating from the Tasman Glacier, the lake borders the eastern slopes Aoraki Mount Cook National Park, it is within a World Heritage area and part of the world's largest International Dark Sky Reserve.
Now it is also Hobbit and Lord of the Rings country. It was a pleasant stopping place late yesterday afternoon as the sun went down and cast a warm glow over the rocks.
