Further along the creek where most of the ducks seem to be congregating, rather than on the little lake. These are the lucky ones. It is duck shooting season in NZ but these are safe in the Gardens. I think most of them are Mallards. We used to feed them bread and they would all come flapping and swimming towards any humans but now we are told bread is not good for them and they simply ignore us, knowing there is no extra food to be had. They all look healthy and well fed.
