In the foreground is the west lighthouse at the Port of Cleveland entrance. In the back ground is the 5 Mile Crib. The Crib is the water inlet for Cleveland and outlying cities water supply. Their is an interesting story about a tunnel collapse during cribs construction of the Crib. In 1916 Garret A. Morgan used his new invention the gas mask to rescue 31 men trapped in a tunnel under Lake Erie after an explosion. Mr. Morgan also invented the traffic signal.
