We escaped a snow in Nebraska only to arrive in Alabama in time for an unseasonable flood. They received over 5 inches of rain Christmas morning on ground that was already supersaturated. This is a tiny creek (prounced as crick, as a crick in your neck, down here). It is about 4 to 5 feet over its normal levels. My cell phone camera was the only one waterproof to take out in the rain. It couldn't handle the swiftly moving water in the dim light. By the next morning the water was mostly gone.
