You need to understand, Nebraska is not known for its bodies of water. Sure, we have a few lakes and a couple of rivers. We get sandhill cranes in the spring, and sometimes a few pelicans stop by if the great lakes aren't thawing quick. But to see a lone pelican in the fall, traveling with a bunch of ducks ... well, it is different.
