It is a jumping meadow mouse -- tiny (about thumb-size) and very cute. He would run under my chair for protection from the three-year-old at our camp. One time he jumped on my leg and into the hat I was holding to hide. When we were singing hymns in the evening, he curled up against the warm fireplace grate and fell asleep.
