Still on my Red Death quest here - learning what to do to keep my red sensor from freaking out on me and what situations are likely to require extra care. These periwinkles were getting clear morning sunlight full in their faces, so I expected to have to underexpose a bit to keep the detail in the reddest parts of the petals at the risk of losing detail in the shadows and then bump it up in Lightroom. Um, no. This is the "unbracketed" shot. The meter was right on this time. While the image rates as a success at my level of skill, that I don't know WHY it worked is frustrating. Onward!
