Seen here in a family group. A bipedal ape known for its strong affinity to oceans and all bodies of water - Humans or Homo Sapiens being the remaining extant example. The amniotic fluid of the neonate has often been compared to seawater. In the Aquatic Ape Hypothesis, primary characteristics such as hairless or furless skin have been attributed to an evolution of a swimming ape into a primarily land bound creature. (See Wikipedia for more information) Although embraced by such notable naturalists as David Attenborough, the theory is largely disregarded in academic circles. There can be no denying the potency and fascination of the ocean and waters in general to the species.
