We live a stone's throw off of State Highway 1. The road is closed in northern Big Sur about 53 miles north of here. Nonetheless, I drove north last week and snapped a few photos at the lighthouse made famous by the movie "The Monster at Piedras Blancas". I didn't see any monsters
