In the shopping mall near where I live they spare no efforts when it comes to Xmas decorations. This year, as you can see, the theme is polar bear. First time in history the zoo in Berlin has succeeded in nursing and raising a polar bear baby born in captivity.The babies were rejected by the mother at birth. Only one survived. His name is Knut and he became very famous. His "keeper mama" (himself a father) hand-fed him, lay with him nights, taught him swimming etc. etc. Now Knut is almost a year old and "mama" is no longer allowed to cuddle with the 230 lbs. baby. This Xmas decoration, I believe, has been inspired by Knut.
