About fifty kilometers west of Thunder Bay, Ontario, you'll find this waterfall and bridge. Legend has it that once, in remote past, a powerful hostile tribe planned to attack the little tribe residing near this fall. A girl from the latter tribe (the daughter of the chief, it is said) pretended defecting to the enemy tribe the night before the attack. She promised she would lead the boats of the enemy ,via a secret river, to her own tribe for a surprise onslaught. Sitting in front in the lead boat, in the early morning of the doom day, she led the enemy boats with all warriors, weapons, and herself, down the Kakabeka falls to their demise, perishing all, thus saving her people from the menace of the tyrants!
