Three months ago, while strolling in the yard of a "budget" type hotel in Rome, I came across this "replica" of "Birth of Venus" by Sandro Boticelli. I have seen the original -a drawing, of course, not a sculpture- at the Ufizzi in Florence. I must say that, in my opinion, this unknown sculptor has done a better job than Boticelli! The figure, so natural and elegant in the serene quiet garden, was truly sublime.
