The City of IB has to put these up from time to time due to the unprocessed sewage that Poverty-stricken Tijuana dumps into its river. The river flows to the Pacific and northern flowing currents bring it to California beaches. Actions to stop it have helped over the past decade or so but "TJ" has no processing facility and the San Ysidro facility on the U.S. side is unable to completely process the waste it receives. I don't actually kn ow what the levels are to require the signs put up, if its anything like Navy nuclear limits, its so low you drink this water your whole life and never feel ill effects. I know the surfers don't give rat's patootie, they are out if the waves are good regardless. Hope this post isn't too macabre.
