Native to the Indo-Pacific, these fish inhabit coral-rich lagoons and reef slopes at depths up to 80 feet. They are famous for their dramatic "metamorphosis," where juveniles with dark blue and white vertical stripes transform into adults with bright yellow bodies and intricate blue facial patterns.
