The Blonde Naso Tang , is a large, vibrant marine fish native to the Indian Ocean and Red Sea. It is highly prized in the aquarium hobby for its striking yellow dorsal fin and personality. The primary feature that separates it from the standard Naso Tang is its bright yellow dorsal fin. As it matures, its body changes from a juvenile grayish-brown to a deep bluish-gray. It has a prominent black "mask" around the eyes and snout, accented by orange or yellow lips that resemble lipstick. Mature males develop long, elegant streamers on their lyre-shaped tails. It possesses a pair of fixed, razor-sharp orange spines at the base of its tail for defense. Primarily a herbivore, its diet must be rich in marine-based algae and seaweed (Nori). Providing ample live rock for constant grazing is essential for its health and vibrant color. Generally peaceful with other species but can be aggressive toward other tangs, particularly those of the same genus.
