While visiting Llandudno for the first time several weeks ago, I also came across the best example of a Tectonic Plate. I have taken this from the pier from which I could clearly see the layers of the plate in the distance which was limestone, and then you can just make out the lower sandstone plate to the left of the picture near the sandy part of the beach. I have always known about these tectonic plates, but never come across a clear example. The mound is called locally as the Great Orme.
