I had seen this boat here before and wondered who owned it. Saturday morning I was taking photos when this guy waved at me then came over and asked if I had seen his boat when it got swamped in the storm that we had. He had piercing blue eyes about the same color of his boat. He grew up in small city just south of Boston that I know well. It is a tough and gritty place right on the shore. He had five brothers , one of them gave him the oars he is holding when he was thirteen. The next year he built the boat he is standing in back of. He said that he built a sailboat that is still moored in Connecticut and left it there because his grandchildren enjoyed it. He came back here about six years ago after his wife of thirty-five years died. Our conversation was brief , he was taking his boat down to Warren cove where his girlfriend was going to pick him up. It is about a six mile trip there. I figured that we were right about the same age. I am not in bad shape and just might be able to make that journey , maybe , if I had to. He was looking forward to it.
