Two boys are scurrying to get to shore before dark. The water that is seen in this photo is merely the overflow of the Mississippi regular channel on to the batture (look it up in the dictionary or google it). That is why the willow trees are there. Believe me, the River is too wide, too deep and too swift when it reaches me in Louisiana to have anything growing in it.
