This wild cherry tree is known as "the mystery tree" in my parents yard, as years passed before they were able to identify it. To my family it is the herald of spring. I dug up a shoot to plant here at the friary - this past spring was its first bloom, producing fruits for the birds that live in the adjoining forest. The original exposure was pretty washed out; my flash overexposed the gentle pink in the blossoms. A bit of tweaking restored the soft color.
