Due to the pollution that originated during the bathing season in the beaches of Esmoriz, in 2004, they made a dike to stop the waters of the Barrinha. Thus the so-called "fuse dam" would be closed during the bathing season retaining the polluted waters of the Barrinha and opened outside this time ....
