The cantonal court became in 1882, built as a district court. Since 1935 it has only done service as a cantonal court. The building has a excess to details, borrowed from several construction styles and it has been devised by architect j.F. Metzelaar, the that also important cupola prisons of Breda, Haarlem and Arnhem created. The cantonal court was taken in 1996, after a restoration of three years in use.
