Ok...another edit for accuracy: after more research, I have found that this is *not* a "wild strawberry" after all, but another plant in the same family, called a "White Avens." The leaves do look like strawberry leaves, and instead turning into a fruit, the green center of the flower swells into a globe-shaped seed pod with little spikes on it. Just goes to show you that what you've called something all your life might be wrong! These grow in a very shaded part of our place, so they tend to be taller and lankier than most everywhere else I've seen these growing. Y'all enjoy!
