This is one of the coolest of the 'blue' Texas wildflowers, and it's another one that lots of gardeners here plant "on purpose" as well. This is called "mealy" due to the texture of the leaves. The individual flowerlets are arranged up and down a center "spike" that reaches up to between 8-12 inches tall. This shot is taken from directly overhead, looking down at the top of the flower spike. Y'all enjoy!
