This early wildflower can be spotted sporting its gorgeous blue trumpet-like clusters throughout the woods. Part of the Borage family, the gray-green foliage opens to expose clusters of pink buds. Virginia bluebells are often seen as a blue sea of flowers, carpeting floodplains near streams. The flower buds are pink and become blue as they open. - See more at: lakemetroparks.com/parks/springflowers.
