This is our destination. St. Jacobs Well. It took me 20 minutes of climbing down the side of the mountain and then I arrived here. I thought it rather ugly myself and the water looked dirty. When I got home I googled it and found out that the cattle drives and wagon trains used this as a sure source of water. The pioneers thought it to be bottomless but science ruined that by proving it is 60 feet deep and spring feed. So the water no matter how it looks is pure as momma nature can make. I hope you have all enjoyed our little tour of the well and surrounding prarie.
