It seems like almost everything out here is named after Native Americans. The Klickitat Indians lived here as late as 1855 when they capitulated and joined in the Yakima treaty at Camp Stevens on June 9, 1855. They ceded their lands to the United States. Most of them settled upon the Yakima Reservation which is still an Indian reservation to this day. The U.S. has not taken that away yet. Hope you like!
