Carnegie Free Library

quickshot's picture, Free Library, inspired me to go deeply into my long lost folders to look for a picture of a similar library. I found my, not nearly well captured prize, of my childhood memory from Bellefontaine, Ohio.

I took this picture of the Carnegie Free Library on July 14, 2003. I had spent many hours during my youth in this 1905 building.

Later in life, I remember watching, "Something Evil This Way Comes," the 1983 horror film starring Jason Robards and thinking that the library in the movie was just like the one I remembered in Bellefontaine.

By the way, back when I lived in Bellefontaine, there was a bakery next door to the library and a Murphy's Five and Dime across the street. Murphy's had a fountain and the best milk shakes and sodas in the world. My dog waited for me by the door. It was paradise to a ten year old.
