This was an accidental B&W photo (sepia actually). I was playing with a program with very simple editing abilities (Irfanview, a wonderful program, btw!!) and wanted to see what would happen if I set some of the parameters to relative extremes (gamma correction, saturation, contrast, brightness, sharpness, etc). It started as a straight forward photo of Salisbury Cathedral. Here's what happened! I liked the results. :-)
