Here's another interesting instrument ... The Rack ... This was the "Ultimate" in torture at the Tower of London... One gruesome aspect the prisoner had the possibility of looking forward to is being stretched too far on the rack. First you would hear / feel the loud popping noises made by your snapping cartilage, ligaments or bones. Eventually, if they continue to "Stretch" you on the rack, the prisoner's limbs are completely separated from their body. One powerful impression and "inspire" the prisoner to talk was to merely force him to view other prisoner being subjected to the rack. If the prisoner didn't die on the Rack they would need to be dragged to the scaffold to be executed .. Reason being was that they couldn't walk ... The rack above is of course a replica ...
