This is more-or-less a close up of a deck built at the tip of a rocky ridge of land that curves away from the shore of the St. Lawrence River then fish-hooks back to point into the oncoming flow. The semi-circle of this ridge creates a quiet bay where in summer mother ducks are often seen trailing half a dozen ducklings. In winter, due to slower water movement, the bay acquires a top sheet of ice and snow. In summer the deck is a great place to catch some tranquility. In the winter of course it's as the title says.
