This is a little known part of Colorado and one of least visited parts of the state. For that I am grateful. There is a 23 mile road that encircles the park. The elevation of the road is about 6,000 feet and the floor of the monument is 4,700 feet so you are looking at a 1300 feet drop from where this image was captured. The monolith rising from the canyon floor is named Independence Monument. Just one of the many spires found in this magical setting.
