While I know that snow blankets most of the United States right now, in Southern California Hummingbirds are beginning to establish and defend their territories. Visibly absent for the past month or so, now they are everywhere, singing and chasing eachother around. This little fellow landed not more than 20 feet from me. In fact I actually had to back up to get within the focal range of my lens.
