A Peregrine Falcon visited my little pond this past weekend. I know it lives nearby as my wife sees it almost daily with a pigeon, near her office. In almost 15 years of frequenting this refuge, one has never landed for me. In the late 70's these falcons were released in urban areas because the food supply was not contaminated with DDT. They still exist here today.
