This bird was originally known as the Rock Dove, & shouldn't be confused with the Feral Pigeon which gets such a bad press. These birds are clearly identified by their white collars, & make such a sweet cooing sound when calling, you can be hear them on the link above. :o)

Did you think all Pigeons are common ? well click here to see a photograph of a rare un, it's so rare it hasn't been officially spotted since 1900 seems certain North Americans shot this one to extinction. :o(
