Europeans take their art to different levels that we Yanks, it seems. When buildings are constructed, detail to artistic features abound, such as this building. Here in the US, my impression is things are reduced to very clean lines (the Frank Lloyd Wright effect?), and cost expediencies. But on this building you can see minute attention to detail in a variety of artistic mediums: iron, brink, bronze, etc. That isn't to say US architecture can't be seen as artistic, but it does seem as though we have lost the human aspect of architectural art.
