After trying for ages, I finally managed to get an image that wasn`t all over the place in Apophysis. I wasn`t happy with the colours so took it to Photofiltre for some post ed work and this is what I ended up with. I would be very greatfull for any comments on this. I have also posted the original for you all to see the difference.
