On a nearly empty beach I watched this fearless guy running in and out with the surf digging at every retreating wave. He found this sand flea - and spent about 3 minutes cleaning it, fighting off thieves, and getting it lined up to swallow. A brown bird on brown sand is a difficult contrast problem.
