Rain falls from the sky & land on the mountains to become snowmelt, which travels down the mountain in the spring to mingle with creeks, brooks & streams.

These waters then make their way to either peaceful ponds & lakes before going once more to mingle with some lager streams known as possibly the Red River or the Ohio River & there they make their way to the Mississippi River to finally find the Gulf of Mexico.

And from the Gulf out to the Atlantic where the water finds home...through the process of evaporation & the cycle can start all over again. So water, not unlike salmon, travels a long long way.

Also my entry in The Colors of Nature Contest.
