I find this story appalling, I have been up and down the Hillsborough River for the past 8 weeks now taking photographs. In all that time I have only seen one Turtle on a log and one on land. I have traveled up and down this River for over 40 years from Green Swamp all way down to Tampa Bay. Thru those years I have explored most of the 54 miles of the River at one time or another. I used to see many Turtles in the River, many times as much as a half dozen sitting on the same log. Now It takes 8 weeks to find only two. This has become a travesty, The harvesting of Turtles to feed China is Getting out of hand. It needs to Stop Now, and not after they are driven to extinction. China’s own Turtle population has been damn near driven to extinction, so now it’s time for them to start on ours. Eventually man’s own stupidity and greed will create his own extinction.
