Trying out a new lens for the Canon Digital Rebel XTi - a 50mm fixed lens. I'm pretty impressed with it. Very sharp and clear. I was reading that the 75-300mm lenses shoot best in the middle of their range, but distort more toward either end. They said the same thing is true of any zoom lens. Also said that if you really wanted to see what your camera can do, to get a fixed lens, such as a 50mm. Have you found this to be true?
