This was done using a palette knife, it is in oil and on a 18x24 canvas. I did it from a palette of left over paint that I did not feel like just discarding . I have quite a few canvases like this made from paint that I could not use on whatever I was working on, so in a lot of cases I just pile the paint on a canvas until I see something being born, in this case an Eye.
