I was lucky enough to visit Death Valley while rain clouds made their way over the mountains, a rare occurance. This picture was taken at sunset from Dante's View, about 5500 feet above sea level. Below, the valley floor sits over 200 feet below sea level. Also, that isn't flowing water you're seeing, it's actually a huge salt deposit.
