Another photo in the Dawn over Louisiana series. This one was taken as I crossed an expanse of water that lies between New Orleans and everything else. The elevated highway runs for almost fifteen miles. Many people don't realize that for most purposes New Orleans is an island sitting out on the end of Louisiana where the Mississippi River delta meets the Gulf of Mexico.
