I checked My List of things to do today. As the song says "Start Living...thats the next thing on my list". Some of you know the whole story, some of you don't, but the truth is that the details don't really matter. Suffice to say that I have spent far to many of my years trying to live for someone else. Now it's time to start living for myself. I had a ton of things I SHOULD have done today and a few that I NEEDED to do today...but it is the end of September and 80 degrees, which is pretty rare in Wisconsin. A cold front is predicted for tonite, along with rain. I think that this may be the last 80 degree and sunny day of the season. So I climbed on the Harley and headed out. I drove 10 miles East to the lakefront and followed it 5 miles north, then back through downtown and past Miller Park (where the Brewers will play the hated Cubs tonite), kept going 20 miles into the countryside, South for 10 miles to trail the edges of Big Muskego Lake, no rush, no hurry, a gentle ride in the wind, back towards the city and through the Botanical Gardens of Whitnall Park, ending up at the Nature Center there. About a 3 hour ride all total. As I got there the clouds started rolling in. The rain and the cold front were en route. I caught this tree silhoueted against the gathering clouds and it seemed to me that God was saying "You're right...this may be the last of the season...but it sure was a good one wasn't it?" It sure was. Thanx for taking this little ride with me folks. What's next on YOUR list?
