For this picture, the camera, along with a stack of grad ND filters, was attached directly to the fence with a device called an ActionPod Pro, made by Dinkum Systems. It’s a spring-loaded plier with a gooseneck attached. It allowed shooting directly down the fenceline, which gave depth to the image, as well as an unobstructed view of the private property on the other side. Focusing was through an iPad Air via the Canon 6D’s Wi-Fi connection - very handy for awkward locations like this one. I believe this spot was about mid way between Gualala and Point Arena, just off California Highway 1.
