This three shot composite image was taken a few miles west of Willits, California in early April. The hour drive inland from Ft. Bragg on the coast had been constant twists and turns over Highway 20. The two lane road goes through Jackson State Forest and rarely has much of an opening in the trees, so finding this view to the south was a pleasant surprise. The shots were taken from a tripod with the Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II tilt/shift lens on a 6D body. An iPad Air was used for fine focusing and exposure control, as well as for triggering the shutter.
