Sharpshooters are a common backyard insect pest and vector for plant diseases. I believe this one is a Smoke Tree Sharpshooter and they're probably responsible for some of the plant sickness and die off I have to deal with. About 1 cm long, this one was shot at 2X, handheld, at night, with the Canon MP-E65 macro lens and a ring flash.
