This is one out of the bin, gussied up a little. The first thing that impressed me when I chanced upon this pretty little dogwood at the edge of the forest was that tangled vegetation behind it. Those of you familiar with the American Civil War might recall a battle named "Wilderness". Wilderness Battlefield is a good 50 miles from this spot, but the forest is the same...vines, bushes, trees, snakes, deer, bears...not hard to imagine those poor soldiers going in there knowing that every tree or bush could be hiding a sniper and every vine could tangle his feet. It has a wild, strange beauty now... Thanks for stopping by to take a look!
